During an joint operation by The Beach Customs and the Tax Guard last week, an imported package was inspected due to incomplete importation documents. The firearms were discovered on the 10th April, at the small parcel area in one of Enapor’s warehouses. It was found that firearms and ammunition were discovered concealed inside a barrel from the United States of America.
In total, four handguns and 158 rounds of ammunition were found, being two Smith Wesson revolvers, one Iver Johnson and one Walther PK380. The guns and 158 rounds of ammunition of various calibers were concealed in bags within the barrel, containing cereal and jars of coffee.
During the operation, an individual of Cape Verdean nationality was arrested as he tried to collect the package without proper inspection.
